  • Certificates are not to be over two (2) years old. As for Africans.

Post-graduate Scholarships
  • All applicants for postgraduate courses have to receive a First Class (1st Degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division). Applicants who are previous winners of Foreign Awards must have completed at least two (2) years of postgraduate or job experience in Nigeria; The N.Y.S.C. age limit for all candidates is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D., and only:
  • N.Y.S.C will only consider discharge or exemption certificates;
  • Evidence of the employer's readiness to issue.

Bilateral Scholarships are available for both pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Awarded scholarships for following fields of study:

1) Undergraduate level –Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, physics
2) Technology, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited),
3) Postgraduate level (Master's and Ph.D.) in all fields.


  1. Because the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undergo the country of choice's mandatory one-year foreign language course which will be the basic instruction medium; 
  3. Applicants to Japan must have a strong background in further mathematics; 

  4. As in other scholarship awards, the certificates needed for candidates applying for Iman Preachers and Quranic Professor of Islamic Religious Studies in Algeria is WAEC;

  5. All applicants to the Hungarian Scholarship can apply in order of preference for up to two fields of study; and

 How to apply for the 2019-2020 BEA Awards for Nigerians to Study Abroad

  1. Candidates wishing to apply for this BEA award scholarship should send two sets of completed application forms with the following attachments to the various JAMB CBT centres:
  2. Two sets of Academic Certificate and Testimonial photocopies of previous schools attended for spotting with the originals;
  3. Only one credential is approved for Undergraduate applicants, i.e. WAEC of May / June;
  4. Two copies of National Population Commission Birth Certificates;
  5. Certificate of origin / LGA properly authenticated, stamped and dated;
  6. Four (4) colored, white passport size photographs; and
  7. Postgraduate candidates will only be required to submit college transcripts and NYSC certificates for discharge or exemption.

Both qualifying candidates are to register a day to the date scheduled for the exam for an interview at the accreditation venues. Candidates nominated by the Board are required to present the following to the Federal Scholarship Board:
  • Authenticated copies of academic certificates; 
  • current international passport data page;
  • and government hospitals listed medical reports
