Agency Report

A hat-trick from Luis Suarez inspired Barcelona to a come-from-behind victory over Eibar at Camp Nou on Sunday evening as the Catalans drew level on points with Real Madrid at the top of the Liga table.

The visitors took a surprise lead after just 10 minutes as Borja Baston latched onto a rebound to slot the ball past the stranded Claudio Bravo, though it did not take Barca long to respond in what would be an engaging and open contest.

A sublimely worked goal saw Sergio Busquets pick out Sandro with a pin-point pass, who then crossed for Luis Suarez to power a free header into the back of the net; there was no waiting around as the Uruguayan fished the ball out of the net and went in search of a winner.

He only had to wait a few minutes after the restart to get it, dropping his shoulder to cushion Neymar’s pull-back before rifling the ball in at the near post with unerring accuracy.

Eibar struggled to mount a response, even with Javier Mascherano sent off late on, before Suarez grabbed his third with a sublime chest and volley from another Neymar assist as Barca secured the three points which takes them up to second, denied top spot only on goal difference.
