Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has received
the 21 Chibok girls released by the Boko Haram group on Thursday, October 13.

The girls were among the 219 students abducted from their dormitory in Chibok
community, Borno state on April 14, 2014.

The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu who confirmed the release of the 21 girls had stated that the head of Department of State Services, DSS, Mallam Lawal Daura had briefed the president about their release.

Shehu had said the girls who were in the
custody of the DSS were to be received by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Photos have now emerged showing the vice
president receiving the girls.

October 13, 2016 Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has described the celebration by the federal government over the release of 21 Chibok girls by the Boko Haram group as a tactic employed by the government to divert the attention of Nigerians away from the hunger in the country.
