President Muhammadu Buhari has told his ministers to obey the rule of law and shun impunity while they carry out their activities.
The President made the call at a two-day retreat for the incoming ministers to prepare them for the task ahead.

The retreat commences today, November 5, 2015, in Abuja.

The theme of the retreat is “Delivering Change: From Percepts to Practice”.
Buhari told the ministers-designate that they
should count themselves privileged to have been
chosen to serve among millions of Nigerians.

The leader of the nation noted that the retreat
was meant at getting the ministers-designate
acquainted with the direction of his
administration. He reminded them of his campaign promises of fighting corruption and insecurity as well as revamping the economy. President Buhari also charged his ministers to work together as a team.

The event takes place at the International
Conference Center. Thirty-six ministerial nominees were recently screened and confirmed by the Senate and will probably be inaugurated after the retreat.

President Buhari is likely to appoint duties to the ministers and give portfolios to them this week. Femi Adesina, the presidential media aide, said the president will decide when to swear-in his cabinet. The incoming ministers arrived in Abuja last night and the event is set to begin at 9am.

The last of the confirmed ministerial names
were taken to Buhari at the Aso Rock villa in
Abuja by the president of the Senate, Bukola
Saraki, on Tuesday.

Nigerians on different social media criticized
their president over complaining but not
working. Buhari said in India last week that
Nigeria at the moment cannot afford to pay 36 ministers, and ruled out the possibility of assigning portfolios to all the ministerial nominees confirmed by the senate.

Saraki later stated that the idea of having
ministers without portfolio was not entirely new
in the political system of the country.
